Our Daily Homeschool Schedule
Finding a homeschooling schedule that works for your family takes a lot of trial and error. One thing that has really helped me create a schedule that works for our family is peeking into other people’s homeschooling schedules!
I mean we all secretly want to see how other mamas are doing it because it helps us gather ideas for our own families.
So here is our daily homeschool schedule for our at home days right now. This will change as our family changes and grows, but it is working great for us in this season! 🙂
5:30 – Mommy wakes up, showers, and gets ready.
6:00 – Coffee and Quiet Time for mom
6:30 – I get started working
7:30 – Â I start my morning routine of starting the laundry and starting dinner, etc..
8:00 – I get the children up if they haven’t woken up already, and they start their morning checklists and get their own breakfast. I oversee what they are doing and spend one on one time with the toddler. The elementary aged kiddoes will start some of their table work, by working down their drawers.
9:00 – We are ready to start our school work together! We start by doing our morning basket and Bible time together. We do our hymn study and some read alouds during this time as well!
10:00 – Kids take turns doing their math, phonics, handwriting, and language arts. I put these in their school drawers so they can work down them at their own pace. I help as needed, and we usually eat some snacks while we work.
11:30 – We eat a salad lunch together and everyone takes turns chopping, setting the table, and cleaning up.
12:00 – While the kids finish up their lunch, I finish our read alouds for the day.
12:30 – The children finish up any of their schoolwork they need to. I help them, grade, and tend to the toddler as necessary. I also work one on one with them as they need me. If we are currently doing a loop schedule for other subjects, it goes here!
1:30 – We start our memory work recitation which we call “Memory Lane” time. This is where we practice our Classical Conversations memory work and our scripture memory work. Our children participate in Junior Bible Quiz at our church, so they have lots to commit to memory! I fold the laundry while quizzing, and they take turns putting it away.
2:30 – It’s nap time! I put the toddler and the preschooler down for a nap, then my eldest works on having his own quiet time, finishes any school projects that need attention, chooses a learning game on the Ipad, and has some time to play by himself. I spend some more time cleaning the house and working.
3:30 – The preschooler wakes up, and if the weather permits, I send them outside to play! I finish up any more work I have to do or make any phone calls necessary during this time.
4:30 – The toddler wakes up and we snuggle, then get ready for dinner.
5:00 – It’s dinner time! We eat together as a family, and Daddy reads a devotion or Bible passage to us while we finish up.
6:00 – Free time for all! We try to spend this time together as a family.
7:00 – Evening routine! They finish their evening chores, have a bed night snack, and brush their teeth.
7:30 – Get into bed for some quiet reading time. By this point, I am pretty worn out, so my husband will spend some time with them or read to them sometimes.
8:00 – It’s lights out for the kiddoes! I kiss them goodnight and then get ready for bed myself.
8:30 – Daddy puts the toddler to bed and I finish up any meal prepping or work that needs to be finished.
9:30 – Toddler is down and we spend some time together as a couple. I finish up any lesson planning or online work that needs to be finished. On the weekends we use this as date time to do something fun while we have some time to ourselves.
11:00 – Lights out for the grown ups!
