Build Character in Your Kids – Challenge!
Bad attitudes, lazy students, and forgetting EVERYTHING that had been slowly instilled in their hearts for years. –> This was our homeschool. This was our daily life. After stewing about it for longer than I should of, I asked the Lord to help me see what the root of our homeschool woes was. Turns out, it was character training.
You see we had been memorizing scripture and had been completing our Bible study. We said our prayers and studied theology for kids. But putting that scripture into practice was the problem! We knew what we should be doing (by we, I mean my adorable rotten children of course 😉 ) but we didn’t know how to practically work that into our days.
Building character takes time. It takes diligence. Building character requires you to model a character trait yourself for your children to see, while you are disciplining them in walking out their character in their daily lives. \ Now that we have been practicing our character regularly, I see the importance of honing in on one single character trait. Kids need to rehearse something over and over again before it becomes a part of them.
I want these Biblical character traits to be woven into the cellular tissue of their tiny hearts! So one by one we are tackling them.
