How to Find the Perfect Homeschool Curriculum
As a prospective homeschooler I scoured the internet for hours trying to find the best curriculum for my children perfect homeschool curriculum . I figured there would be one single curriculum that I could purchase in one nice neat box that would meet all of my requirements. My dream curriculum would be a perfect fit for my family, allowing me to use it with all of my kids. They would all enjoy doing it, and I would enjoy teaching it.
The perfect curriculum would fully meet my standards and exceed all of their educational needs. Oh, and I failed to mention that it would be the perfect curriculum to teach them about who God is, what He has done for us, and would ultimately lead them to Christ. (Are you laughing yet? 😉 ) I knew it had to be out there, and I just had to discover where I could get my hands on it!
Well, after lots of trial and error and a couple years later, I realize that there is no perfect curriculum. (I can feel my former self gasping at the thought!) I have found lots of great resources to use to help me teach my children the things that they need to learn. The Lord has also taught me, through this crazy homeschooling journey, that I am the one responsible for training my children in the way that they should go, so that later in life they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6) Â NOTÂ my curriculum.
As I was up late last night searching for out curriculum choices for next year, I again made the mistake of searching for the curriculum that would raise successful children who will be fluent in Biblical truth and will follow Christ. And, like a blind person stumbling in the darkness, I whacked myself square in the face with the truth that the Lord has put in place all along. With His help, I actually uncovered the almost perfect curriculum! The good news is, I can tell you where you can find the almost perfect curriculum too!
To find it, first get on your knees before the God who called you to this thing called homeschooling.
He actually knows who your children are going to be in 10 years, what they are going to struggle with, and what they are going to need to know as adults.
Trust me momma you and I are both outmatched here and need His help and guidance! Next, grab your Bible and go look at yourself in the mirror. (I am totally serious here, grab it and go!)
