Mandatory staycation got your kiddoes going crazy? The craziness going on outside our doors has thrown off a lot of regular routines even for my homeschooled kids.
Sometimes the best thing to do in the craziness is to BRIBE them. Read – “Finish that math lesson, and we’ll have a family movie night!”
My children have cleaned the entire kitchen, made breakfast for the whole family, written a paper, gotten through all of their schoolwork, and done it all while getting along – all for the promise of a family movie night with chocolate chip Yonanas (Ice cream made out of frozen bananas).
Can I get an Hallelujah!?
Yonanas Bribery fulfiller ^^^ 😉
So if you need a miraculous solution to ease the children into a new routine, check out these movies that my family loves to re-watch over and over.
P.S. You can rent most of them on Amazon!!
Best Movies to Watch with Your Kids
In random order:
Swiss Family Robinson
This classic tale of a marooned family making their way on an island filled with giant turtles, elephants, tigers, and pirates is probably the most asked for movie in our home. It is a must watch movie to watch with your kids!
Old Yeller
This tear jerking tale of a boy and his scoundrel of a dog is a heart warming classic. Oh the adventures they have!
Wizard of Oz
This epic movie reminds us all that while adventure is out there, there is truly no place like home.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
This movie has a story within a story. Add that to a fun car that might be able to fly and your children will be glued.
The Sound of Music
I almost feel like this one doesn’t need an introduction. If you haven’t seen it yourself or watched it with your kids, stop what you are doing and get it!
Finding Nemo
This sweet story of an overprotective dad and a prodigal son is filled with adventure. Toddlers and adults in our family enjoy this “fishy” movie.
Monsters Inc.
This fun story of two friends who get caught up in a sticky situation is incredibly charming. We love pointing out the character qualities exhibited in this movie.
Up!
This is, hands down, my all-time favorite movie. Such a heartwarming love story. I hope I get to live to be old and to pour into the next generation like Carl does <3
The Pirates who Don’t do Anything
What a goofy adventure! Pirate vegetables, rock monsters, and Cheetos that chase you all help make this one epic movie. We enjoy singing the songs and seeing the film on a regular basis.
What’s on your list of best movies to watch with your kids?
