Solar Eclipse for Homeschoolers – FREE Printable Unit Study!
“The solar eclipse is almost here and we haven’t even started learning about it!” exclaimed one exasperated mama at a homeschooling conference we recently attended. “My kids won’t even know what is happening” she sighs as her head drops in defeat.
A dear friend of mine interjects without missing a beat, “The solar eclipse is NOT a deadline.”
As homeschoolers, it is not a deadline. Nothing is an absolute deadline when you make the deadlines. Let your kids watch the eclipse, and then you can learn about it. Or, WATCH ONE ON YOUTUBE!! 🙂 Then do a unit study if they think it is interesting.
So if you are one of those mamas, like me, who had big learning plans that didn’t quite pan out, there is no time like right now (AFTER the eclipse happened) to get started teaching your kiddoes about how our glorious, God spoken Solar System works! This study on the solar eclipse for homeschoolers is perfect for you!
When studying the solar system, we also enjoyed learning about the Sun and other heavenly bodies such as the moon and planets. One of our FAVORITE resources to cover Astronomy, is Apologia: Exploring Creation with Astronomy. We LOVE their Young Explorer Series, and thoroughly enjoyed this time digging into astronomy together. As you can imagine, solar eclipses particularly interested my children.
Sign up here to get your FREE PRINTABLE Eclipse Unit Study here to help you teach your children about the eclipse they may or may not have experienced. 😉 (YouTube mama! 😉 )

P.S. Here is a link to a FREE Solar System Symphony course that will teach your child all about the music inspired by the Solar System! Enjoy! 🙂
