Need some festive nutrition this Valentine’s Day?
These delicious protein-packed oatmeal power bites are sure to be a hit for your Valentine’s Day snack! My family gobbles up any nut butter bite I come up with. Especially if it contains other seeds and natural ingredients. So we add some completely awful for you candies on top and call it a par-tay! 😉
Shhh! Don’t tell my kids that I am hiding nutrition under the sprinkles!
Oatmeal Power Bites Recipe
These really make the best Valentine’s Day snack that even little hands can help with. Gather all the ingredients and mix them per the directions (you can scroll down to find them!)
Once they are mixed, get your minions darling kiddoes to help you roll all the mixture into balls. If there are problems with the mix sticking together, add some more peanut butter and let it set in the fridge a bit longer.
Don’t forget to remind them to wash their hands! You never know where those paws have been. Your littles will also enjoy decorating with sprinkles when you are finished.
Even leftover red and white Christmas sprinkles or red and white Christmas sugar make these feel festive at a fraction of the cost! We get ours 50% off after Christmas and use it for the rest of the year.
Hello 4th of July treats! I mean seriously, red and white works for Valentine’s day, July 4th, and Christmas. Can I get an Amen!?
Stuff You Need
- 2 Cup Oats (Old Fashioned works best)
- 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1/2 Cup Honey
- 1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut
- 1/2 Cup Sunflower Seeds
- 1/2 Cup Valentine’s Day M&M’s
- Optional: Wilton’s Heart Sprinkles
If you are super cheap frugal like I am, you can pick out all the red M&Ms you bought after Christmas. The kids will never know!
Steps to Take
- Combine all ingredients, except sprinkles, in a large bowl and mix well.
- Chill in the refrigerator for around 20 minutes, then take back out
- Using a cookie scoop (or your tiny army of little hands) to form mixture into tight balls.
- Place onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
- Optional: Place glorious heart sprinkles on each bite.
- Store in the refrigerator for a bit to firm up.
- Take out and om nom noom!!
**Makes 35-40
We sometimes double the recipe if we are having guests over or want them to last more than one afternoon in a large family. You’ll thank me later 😉
Enjoy the best Valentine’s Day Snack
